How to know it's a sound fault
Six signs that point to driver damage, amplifier IC failure, or audio codec issues rather than Bluetooth or battery problems. Diagnostic-first approach ensures the right fix.
Distorted or crackling sound
Audio sounds fuzzy, distorted, or crackles at any volume. The driver cone has torn or the voice coil is rubbing against the magnet — physical damage to the speaker driver.
Low volume even at max
Speaker volume peaked much higher before, now maxes out at half the previous level. Amplifier IC has failed or the driver's voice coil resistance has risen.
One side/driver is dead
Stereo speaker plays only left or right channel. One driver is blown or the amplifier channel for that driver has failed. Mono speakers: passive radiator may be stuck.
Bass is gone or weak
Used to have deep bass, now sounds tinny. The passive radiator is stuck or damaged, or the low-frequency driver has failed. Common after a drop.
Audio cuts out at high volume
Plays fine at low volume, cuts out or distorts at high volume. Amplifier IC is overheating or can't deliver peak current — thermal shutdown kicks in.
No sound at all but speaker powers on
Speaker turns on, pairs, shows playback progress, but no audio comes out. Amplifier IC, audio codec, or all drivers have failed. Diagnostic tells us which.

How sound repair works
Five steps from diagnostic to handover. Most sound issues are driver damage (quick fix); some are amplifier IC faults (micro-soldering).
1Diagnostic
We run a frequency sweep (20Hz–20kHz) and measure each driver's impedance and response. This tells us which driver is blown, if the amplifier is delivering power, and if the audio codec is working.
2Open and inspect drivers
Enclosure opened, drivers and passive radiators exposed. Visual inspection for torn cones, stuck voice coils, separated surrounds. Amplifier IC inspected for thermal damage.
3Replace blown driver(s)
If a driver is blown, we replace it with an OEM-spec driver matched to your speaker's model — same impedance, power rating, and physical size. Surrounds and cones must match or sound quality suffers.
4Amplifier IC repair (if needed)
If the amplifier IC has failed, we micro-solder a replacement chip. Board-level work requiring a microscope. Some speakers use multi-channel amps (left, right, bass) — we replace only the failed channel.
5Reseal and audio test
Housing resealed, full frequency sweep repeated. We test at low, medium, and max volume, check stereo separation, bass response, distortion. Only leaves the bench when audio is factory-clean.

Driver replacement typically ranges from ₹1,500–₹4,000 per driver depending on the brand and driver size. Passive radiator replacement is ₹1,200–₹2,000. Amplifier IC repair (micro-soldering) is ₹3,000–₹5,000. We provide an exact quote after diagnostic — sometimes it's just a loose wire (₹500 repair).
Driver replacement is typically 1–2 hours. Amplifier IC repair (micro-soldering) takes 3–4 hours. 30 minutes on-site for doorstep in Bangalore + free pickup nationwide for driver swaps. IC-level work may need the lab. Walk-in at our Marathahalli centre is same-day for drivers, next-day for IC repair.

Yes. No bass or weak bass is almost always a stuck or damaged passive radiator, or a blown low-frequency driver. We replace the passive radiator or the bass driver with OEM-spec parts matched to your speaker's model. Bass response returns to factory depth.
If your speaker is still under manufacturer warranty, a third-party repair (including ours) voids it. iTweak instead provides our own 1-year warranty on sound repairs (double our standard 6-month warranty) — we're that confident in driver and amplifier repairs. For speakers still under brand warranty, we recommend the brand's service centre.
OEM-spec drivers sourced from the same supply chains as the original parts — same impedance (typically 4Ω or 8Ω), power rating (5W–20W per driver), cone material, and physical dimensions. We don't fit generic drivers from untraceable sources — they sound wrong and fail fast.
Yes, with limitations. In Bangalore we arrive within 30 minutes for diagnostic and driver replacement (can be done on-site). Amplifier IC repair (micro-soldering) requires the lab. Anywhere else in India, we offer free insured pickup and return within 24–48 hours.
Every sound repair comes with a 1-year warranty covering both the part (driver, amplifier IC) and the labour — double our standard 6-month warranty. If the driver or amplifier fails within that year due to our work, we repair or replace it free of charge. We offer extended warranty on sound repairs because they're high-reliability fixes.
