Get an exact firmware repair quote

Firmware repair pricing varies enough that a quote upfront would be guesswork. Share your iPhone model and a technician calls back with the exact price — no obligation, no spam.

Talk to us first

Tell us your model — we’ll quote the exact cost.

Drop your number and a technician calls back within business hours with the exact price for your iPhone. No obligation, no marketing follow-ups.

What affects the quote

  • Firmware reflash vs flash-chip replacement (chip-level micro-soldering)
  • Speaker brand and model (factory firmware availability)
  • Whether the flash chip itself is corrupted and needs replacement
  • Complexity of JTAG/SWD programming access to the MCU
If the issue isn't actually firmware corruption, you don't pay for the reflash attempt.

How to know it's a firmware fault

Six signs that point to corrupted firmware, failed updates, or flash-memory issues rather than hardware damage. Diagnostic-first approach ensures the right fix.

  • Stuck in boot loop

Speaker powers on, LED sequence starts, then shuts down and restarts endlessly. Firmware corruption or failed update — the boot process can't complete.

  • Won't turn on after firmware update

Updated via app or PC, now the speaker is completely dead. The update failed mid-flash, corrupting the firmware image stored in the speaker's memory.

  • Buttons don't respond

Speaker powers on but volume/power/pairing buttons do nothing. Firmware has lost the button-mapping configuration or the input controller is corrupted.

  • LED shows error pattern

Specific LED blink sequence (often red or alternating colors) that doesn't match normal operation. This is the speaker's way of signaling a firmware error.

  • Factory reset doesn't work

Tried the brand's factory-reset button sequence, nothing happens. Firmware corruption is too deep for user-level reset — needs reflash.

  • Speaker freezes during playback

Plays for a few seconds or minutes, then freezes completely. Power-cycle required. Firmware watchdog fault or memory-leak issue in the firmware build.

Why iTweak

Worried it's bricked forever or needs a new board?

Most firmware faults are recoverable with the right tools and firmware images. iTweak has factory firmware for all major brands and the hardware to reflash directly to the speaker's memory chip. If the flash chip itself is dead (rare), we micro-solder a replacement. 6-month warranty on every repair.

  • Factory firmware library
  • Direct flash-chip access
  • Chip-level recovery when needed
  • 6-month warranty

What iTweak does — and what most shops do

Firmware recovery requires factory images, JTAG/SWD programming tools, and sometimes chip-level skills. Most repair shops don't have any of this — they declare the speaker dead.

How firmware recovery works

Five steps from diagnostic to handover. Most firmware faults are recoverable with a reflash (1–2 hours); corrupted flash chips require micro-soldering (3–4 hours).

  1. Technician reading firmware version from a Bluetooth speaker via JTAG interface
    1

    Diagnostic

We identify the exact fault: boot-loop pattern, LED error code, button response test, firmware version read (if possible). This tells us if it's recoverable with a reflash or needs chip-level work.

  2. Bluetooth speaker board with JTAG programmer connected to MCU
    2

    Open and connect programming tools

Enclosure opened, board exposed. We locate the MCU (microcontroller) or flash chip and connect JTAG/SWD programming headers. This gives us direct access to the firmware storage.

  3. Firmware being reflashed to a Bluetooth speaker via programming tools
    3

    Reflash factory firmware

We erase the corrupted firmware and write a clean factory image matched to your speaker's model and hardware revision. Boot-loop and error patterns resolve immediately if the flash chip is healthy.

  4. Flash memory chip being replaced on a speaker board under a microscope
    4

    Flash-chip replacement (if corrupted)

If the reflash fails because the flash chip itself is dead, we micro-solder a replacement chip and flash the firmware to the new chip. Board-level work requiring a microscope.

  5. Recovered Bluetooth speaker booting normally with correct LED sequence
    5

    Factory reset and functional test

Housing resealed, speaker powered on. We verify boot sequence, test all buttons, pair with a device, run a 10-minute playback test. Only leaves the bench when every function is restored.

FAQ

Boot loops, bricked speakers, factory reset failures — the questions our board team hears daily.

  • Firmware reflash typically ranges from ₹1,500–₹2,500 depending on the brand and complexity. Flash-chip replacement (if the memory chip itself is corrupted) is ₹3,500–₹5,000. We provide an exact quote after diagnostic — sometimes a hardware-level factory reset is all that's needed (₹500–₹800).

  • Firmware reflash is typically 1–2 hours. Flash-chip replacement (micro-soldering) takes 3–4 hours. 30 minutes on-site for doorstep in Bangalore + free pickup nationwide. Chip-level work may need the lab. Walk-in at our Marathahalli centre is same-day for reflash, next-day for chip replacement.

  • Yes. Boot loops are almost always firmware corruption or a failed update. We reflash the factory firmware directly to the MCU or flash chip. If the chip itself is dead (rare), we micro-solder a replacement and flash the firmware to the new chip. Either way, it's recoverable.

  • Not permanently. Failed firmware updates interrupt the flash process mid-write, corrupting the firmware image. We have factory firmware for all major brands and the tools to reflash directly. Most 'bricked' speakers are recoverable in 1–2 hours.

  • If your speaker is still under manufacturer warranty, a third-party firmware reflash (including ours) voids it. iTweak instead provides our own 6-month warranty on the repair and labour. For speakers still under brand warranty, we recommend the brand's service centre; for everything else, our firmware recovery restores factory function at a fraction of brand service cost.

  • Yes. User-level factory reset (button sequences) only works if the firmware itself is healthy enough to execute the reset routine. When firmware is deeply corrupted, the reset command doesn't run. We bypass the button reset entirely and reflash the chip directly with programming tools.

  • Yes, with limitations. In Bangalore we arrive within 30 minutes for diagnostic. Simple reflash jobs can be done on-site if we bring the programmer. Flash-chip replacement (micro-soldering) requires the lab. Anywhere else in India, we offer free insured pickup and return within 24–48 hours.

  • Every firmware repair comes with a 6-month warranty covering both the reflash and any replaced components (flash chip, MCU). If the firmware becomes corrupted again within those 6 months due to our work, we reflash it free of charge. User-initiated firmware updates after our repair are not covered (but we'll help you update safely).
