How to know it's the battery
Six signs Apple itself flags as end-of-life for an iPhone battery. If two or more sound familiar, a replacement will give you back full-day life.
Battery health below 80%
Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. Apple itself recommends a replacement once Maximum Capacity drops below 80%.
Random shutdowns above 30%
If the iPhone shuts off suddenly with charge still showing, the battery can no longer deliver peak voltage on demand.
Charge drains in hours
Standby drain — losing 10–20% sitting overnight or during light use — is a textbook end-of-life symptom.
Phone is warm at idle
An old battery's internal resistance rises, dissipating energy as heat even without active workload.
Swelling under the screen or back
Visible bulging or screen lifting at the edges. Swap immediately — pressure can crack the display or back glass.
Performance throttling kicked in
iOS shows a notice in Battery Health: 'Performance management has been applied'. The CPU is being slowed to compensate for a weak battery.

1Diagnostic
Phonecheck verifies the issue is the battery before any disassembly. If it isn't, you don't pay for a swap.
2Open the device
A heated mat softens the factory adhesive. The screen is lifted with a suction cup. The logic board is never powered during the swap.
3Disconnect the old cell
Battery connector released, old cell removed with anti-static tools. We weigh the old cell — swelling beyond spec is documented in your invoice.
4Install the new battery
Serial-matched cell installed and calibrated against the iPhone's BMS. iOS Battery Health reports the new cell at 100% on first boot.
5Reseal and 80-point test
Fresh adhesive, screen reseated, full Phonecheck pass. The device only leaves the bench when every check is green.
