How to know it's the screen
iPad screen damage comes in two flavours — the glass on top (front digitiser) and the LCD underneath. The fix differs depending on which is broken, and on some iPads they're glued together as one assembly.
Visible cracks on the surface
Cracks you can feel with a fingernail are glass damage. On older iPads with separable layers, a glass-only swap is possible. On Air 2 / Mini 4 / all iPad Pro, the whole assembly is one unit — full replacement.
Ghost touches or no touch response
Touch input erratic, registers in the wrong place, or stops working in parts of the screen. The digitiser layer is failing — replacement restores tracking.
Black spots, lines, or dead pixels
Spots, vertical lines, or dead areas on the display are LCD damage — usually from impact. The glass may look fine while the LCD beneath is cracked.
Display flickers or has colour tint
Backlight or LCD ribbon damage. Colour shift, dim patches, or flickering all point to the LCD itself rather than the digitiser.
Screen completely blank but Touch ID / sound work
Display ribbon disconnected or LCD failed. The iPad is alive — you can hear notification sounds — but the LCD itself has failed.
Apple Pencil no longer registers
Apple Pencil uses a separate digitiser layer; damage to the LCD assembly can take out Pencil sensing even when finger touch still works. Full assembly replacement restores it.

The iPad Pro 12.9" is the most expensive iPad screen we replace (₹25,300) because the assembly itself is expensive — Apple's own out-of-warranty service for the same fault is over ₹50,000 in India. Apple Authorised Service Providers will often quote a full device replacement instead of attempting the repair. We do the screen-only repair. 1-year warranty on the new screen.

What iTweak fits — and what we don't
iPad screen assemblies are higher-spec than iPhone screens — the digitiser has Apple-Pencil sensing layers, the LCD has higher pixel density, and the bonding adhesive is thicker. Generic shops can't source the genuine assemblies and use heat guns that cook the polariser.

3Diagnose and quote
On-bench inspection under microscope to confirm whether the damage is glass-only or full-LCD. Written quote — approve before we touch anything. We tell you upfront whether your iPad model uses a fused assembly or a separable layer.
4Remove old screen, install new
Heated mat releases the adhesive — no heat gun. Old screen separated, replaced with Apple-spec OEM assembly. Touch ID / Face ID hardware carefully transferred. Adhesive cure time: 20 minutes.

The wide range reflects screen-assembly cost — iPad Pro screens are full LCD + digitiser + Apple Pencil sensor units. Full per-model pricing is in the table on this page.
On older iPads (iPad 2, 3, 4, Mini 1, Mini 2, Air, iPad 5) the LCD and touchscreen are separate layers — we can swap just the front glass. On newer iPads (Air 2, Mini 4, all iPad Pro) the LCD and digitiser are fused into one assembly, so the whole display unit must be replaced. We tell you which case applies to your iPad before any work begins.
