How to know it's the iPad battery
iPad batteries die differently than iPhone batteries — they last longer (most last 4–6 years), but when they go, they go hard. These six signs all point at the cell.
Won't last past lunch on a charge
A healthy iPad does 8–10 hours of mixed use. If you're plugging in by midday after a full charge, the cell has lost capacity.
Random shutdowns when battery shows 30%+
An aged battery can't deliver peak current; the iPad shuts off to protect the logic board even though the gauge says it has charge.
Charges to 100% in 10 minutes — then drops to 80%
Voltage-collapse: a worn-out cell will report full charge briefly but can't hold it. Visible drop within minutes is end-of-life behaviour.
Bulging back or lifted screen
iPad batteries bulge when they fail (often by 1–2mm), which physically lifts the screen off the chassis. Stop using the iPad — pressure can crack the LCD.
Warm at idle, not just under load
Internal resistance has risen. The cell dissipates energy as heat even when the iPad is locked. Often paired with rapid drain.
iPad refuses to power on after deep drain
Healthy cells recover from 0%. If yours doesn't boot after an hour on the cable, the cell may have hit its protection cutoff permanently.

Apple rates most iPads at 9–10 hours of mixed use. iPad battery cycle life is roughly 1,000 cycles to 80% capacity — most iPads last 4–6 years before a noticeable drop. If your iPad is dropping rapidly or shutting down at 30%+, the cell is the likely cause.
Yes — if the device is still under our 6 months warranty, we replace the battery free of charge. The warranty doesn't cover physical damage or liquid damage. We also offer a 100% money-back guarantee if the original issue you booked us for wasn't actually the battery.
Because the cell is glued directly to the inside of the LCD on most iPads, and the LCD itself is glass-bonded to the digitiser. A heat-gun shop trying to release the adhesive will crack the screen on roughly every other job — they're not skilled, but the iPad is unforgiving. iTweak uses a heated mat and isopropyl-alcohol solvent — no heat gun. No — battery replacement is a non-data-affecting repair. Your apps, photos, and settings are preserved. As with any device repair, we recommend an iCloud or computer backup as a precaution, but no part of the battery swap touches the SSD.

If your iPad is still under Apple's standard warranty or AppleCare+, a third-party battery replacement (including ours) voids it for hardware claims. For in-warranty iPads, we recommend an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
