Most repair shops won't touch an iMac. Apple's quote is usually a logic-board swap costing more than the iMac is worth.
iMac is an all-in-one — display, logic board, SSD, RAM, PSU, and chassis are bonded together in a way that intimidates most repair shops. Apple Authorised Service Providers will quote a full logic-board swap for any board-level issue (cost: ₹40,000+). iTweak does component-level work: replace the failed GPU chip (not the whole board), upgrade the SSD without breaking the display bond, replace the fan + thermal paste without damaging the 5K display ribbon. 2Free FedEx pickup or walk-in
Free insured pickup pan-India in iMac-grade packaging (custom-fit foam, ~30kg shipping weight). Or walk into Marathahalli (Bangalore). Typical round-trip: 6–8 working days from anywhere in India (iMacs are slower than smaller devices to ship).
3Diagnose and quote
Apple Diagnostics + bench-level testing (multimeter, microscope, thermal scan). We confirm the actual fault — GPU vs board vs SSD vs PSU — before quoting. Written quote, itemised, approve or decline.
4Component-level repair
Display panel safely separated using suction + heated mat (no heat gun). Component-level board work — chip replacement, capacitor reflow, BGA rework where needed. SSD swap where requested. Reassembled with Apple-spec adhesive.
5Test, calibrate, return
Apple Diagnostics post-repair, thermal calibration, display calibration. 1-year warranty paperwork. Return courier or walk-out.

iMac repair cost depends on the model and fault. Display panel replacement: ₹15,000–₹35,000. Logic board component repair: ₹6,000–₹18,000. GPU chip replacement (2011–2014 iMacs): ₹8,000–₹14,000. SSD upgrade: ₹6,000–₹14,000. Send your model + symptom via the booking form for an exact quote.
Yes — this is a specialism. The 2011–2014 iMacs (and some 2014 27" 5K models) had AMD GPUs prone to chip failure, manifesting as black screen, checkerboard patterns, or graphics artifacts. We replace the failed GPU chip directly (not the whole logic board), keeping the rest of the iMac intact. Most repair shops won't attempt this work; we've been doing it since the failures started.
Yes on most pre-2020 iMacs (the SSD is socketed or solderable). On M-series iMacs (M1, M3, M4) the SSD is bonded to the logic board and not upgradeable — Apple's hardware design. We tell you upfront before the repair whether your specific model is upgradeable.
Not if done correctly. Apple's 5K / 4.5K displays are bonded with a specific adhesive that needs proper separation tooling — suction tools + heated mat, no heat gun. Cheap shops break panels every other job. We've done hundreds without damage.
No. iMacs are heavy, the display assembly is fragile, and the work needs proper ESD-protected workstations. We offer free FedEx pickup and drop pan-India (iMac-grade packaging provided), or walk-in at our Bangalore centre.
Not on most repairs. Display, fan, PSU, RAM, and component-level board work all preserve your SSD. Only SSD swaps require attention — we recommend a Time Machine backup before the work, and we offer in-house data migration where possible.

1 year on most iMac repairs (parts + labour). Vintage GPU repairs carry the same 1-year warranty — if the chip fails again within 12 months, free replacement. Physical or liquid damage after the repair is not covered.
