Apple iPhone 14 Review: Faster and Longer-Lasting Battery

While Apple mentioned larger batteries that last longer, it did not go into detail about the improvements we can expect with the iPhone 14 series. Based on direct comparisons to previous-generation iPhone 13 models, all iPhone 14 models offer an hour or more of battery life improvement.

Streaming video playback lasted 15 hours on the iPhone 13, and audio playback lasted 75 hours on the iPhone 13. The ‌iPhone 14‌ can play video for up to 20 hours, stream video for up to 16 hours, and play audio for up to 80 hours.

When watching videos, the iPhone 14 Pro can last up to 23 hours (up from 22), while streaming video can last up to 20 hours (no change), and playing audio can last up to 75 hours (no change).

With the iPhone 14 Pro Max, you can watch videos for up to 29 hours (up from 28 hours). You can stream video for up to 25 hours (no change) and listen to audio for up to 95 hours (no change) with the device.

Considering the iPhone 14 Plus is a new size, there is no direct comparison, but it is capable of playing video for up to 26 hours, streaming video for up to 20 hours, and audio for up to 100 hours. It has the longest audio playback duration, putting it right between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Fast charging is available on all four iPhones, charging them to 50 percent in 30 to 35 minutes with a power adapter of 20W or higher.

Bottom line: these iPhones should have excellent battery life if they live up to their promises.
